LED tunnel for Balenciaga fashion show

Beautiful fabrics in the most beautiful tunnel in the world

To create a spectacular installation that was part of the Balenciaga catwalk at Paris Fashion Week, more than 7000 INFiLED LED panels were used to build a long LED tunnel for the fashion show. A large part of the modules was supplied by AVMS Germany GmbH. AVMS technicians were also significantly involved in the construction.

INFiLED worked closely with Canadian artist and filmmaker Jon Rafman, who was commissioned by fashion house Balenciaga to create a parade highlighting the impact of technology on society and the world. This was Rafman’s first experience in creating a dynamic set with LED panels, and INFiLED provided its knowledge and experience to achieve the amazing result.

The curved tunnel walls were created with INFiLED X-Series modules, which have a stacking and suspension system, combined with the ER-Series, which has a precise curve frame option, with an easily adjustable angle coupler. This allows concave or convex curved configurations of up to 20 degrees.

For the walkway, the smaller SF Series modules were used as a flexible solution that could be easily adjusted and removed and withstand the force of the tread while providing vibrant color and graphics at all times.

During the parade, guided panels lit up the entire sidewalk and tunnels with psychedelic projections that featured everything from a colorful period table to metal structures.

“This incredible project truly pushed the previous boundaries of visual media created with LED panels and was hailed as one of the most talked about shows of the legendary Paris Fashion Week. The flexibility of our range of high quality LED displays will enable the world’s greatest artists to continue to create groundbreaking installations,” said Ben DaCosta, co-founder and CEO of INFiLED.

To make this great installation possible, several INFiLED partners supplied rental equipment, with AVMS contributing a large portion.
