Curtain up - The mobile LED wall

In addition to trade fairs and congresses, the annual general meetings of the major sports clubs also want to be properly staged. So in 2013 it became our task for the first time to accompany the AGM of the FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 e.V.. The highlight installed by AVMS Germany GmbH: A mobile LED wall! – Curtain up!

No other location came into question than the home stadium of the club – the Veltins Arena. It itself is full of innovative solutions that cannot be found in any other in any other stadium. With the so-called convertible roof, it is possible to convert the entire stadium into a To close all-weather and multi-purpose hall. And since the uses of a hall with grass surfaces are limited, the Veltins Arena has also has a solution for this. Within 6 hours the football field can be with real grass from the inside of the arena out into the open. So remains a resilient event area in the interior.

Against this background, the solution for this project was not far away: a mobile LED wall as an eye-catcher for the event.

Schalke 04 welcomed around 9,000 of its members to the Veltins Arena for the 2013 Annual General Meeting. In addition to the many opportunities to participate and get information, they were there for a very specific reason; they wanted to listen to and look at the board of directors while he presented facts and figures and Decisions announced.

For this purpose, AVMS built a 14 x 8 meter mobile LED wall consisting of a total of 160 large INFiLED modules. The LED wall was not only large, it could be divided into two equal halves and moved to reveal what was happening on the stage behind it. The image was captured by several camera units, sent directly to the LED wall via the control room and thus transported to the interested members. When the mobile LED curtain was opened, a second LED wall in the background of the stage with another approx. 50m² was revealed.

The construction of the gigantic LED wall took four days. After the successful completion of the seven-hour annual general meeting, however, everyone agreed: it had been more than worth it!

Especially in the field of football, countless projects can be implemented with our LED walls. How about, for example, a huge public viewing series for the postponed European Championship next year. Then when we can all be in each other’s arms again, when the really important events in our country are celebrated.
