Huge projection inspires large audience

DKB celebrates 25th company anniversary in the Metropolis Halle in Babelsberg

Deutsche Kreditbank Aktiengesellschaft (DKB), headquartered in Berlin, is a credit institution and wholly owned subsidiary of Bayerische Landesbank. DKB’s business is based on two pillars: The private customer business, which is operated as a direct bank, and the activity as a commercial bank with financing and investment solutions for municipalities and companies in selected sectors. In 2019, the bank ranked second among the largest direct banks in Germany by customer numbers. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the successful bank, the company invited to a grandiose birthday party in the Metropolishalle in the Filmpark Babelsberg. The approximately 3000 guests were able to enjoy a great entertainment program in front of a large stage and the huge projection.

The day event consisted of two program parts with different staging. In the morning a band played, whose members were on four round stages with 3m diameter on each side of the hall and a central round stage with 7,5m diameter. The singer performed on the central stage, turning in circles again and again in the course of his performance to present his face to all the guests. Each small circular stage was accompanied by a 10x6m background projection. The event was recorded by several professional radio camera units and partly played back on the screens.

At noon a rebuilding of the scenery was made. The four small stages were removed and one large stage was erected instead.

This stage was equipped with a huge 25 x 6 meter screen, on which a large image was created with three light-intensive projectors. In order to avoid bright light edges in the areas where the images overlap, the following was done with the Softedge technique. In this case, the images in the overlapping area are darkened with gray gradients to the edge of the projected image. This creates a seamless transition for the huge projection.

In order to provide the hall with a fascinating lighting atmosphere, the AVMS technicians installed a total of more than 250 different spots, LED floodlights and stepped lens spotlights and programmed and operated the lighting control system.

For the always good sound, various radio microphones, mixers, equalizers, high-performance amplifiers and many speakers and subwoofers were used.

A highlight of the event was the arrival of a board member via parachute flight. He made it through the flight without injury and was in great spirits.

The technical team, consisting of 20 AVMS employees, had a lot to do during this unforgettable day event.
