German Convention Bureau talks about "Future Meeting Space" in the Messe Frankfurt Studio

Live talk with online connection and content feed on joint study with Fraunhofer IAO

The relevance of events for the overall communication mix of an organisation will continue to increase in the future. The increasing hybridity of formats is expanding the temporal and spatial reach of events, while at the same time the desire for real places and authentic experiences is growing. These and other exciting results from 18 months of intensive research work were presented by the GCB German Convention Bureau e.V. and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO as the innovation alliance “Future Meeting Space” at an online event on 22 February 2021 at the Messe Frankfurt Studio.

The Future Meeting Space Innovation Network will continue its work in 2021 with a new research topic. Under the title “The Changing Ecosystem of Events”, the research partners are addressing the challenges of the post-Corona era. The focus is on the new spaces of possibility created by the changing ecosystem of events. The aim of the research is to analyse the challenges of change and to develop usage scenarios for real, hybrid and virtual meetings in such a changed ecosystem. The results to date include an “Innovation Catalogue” that summarises new and future technologies, six “Future Meeting Scenarios” and the “Future Meeting Room”. In the further course, a study on the requirements for events that inspire – including an overview of different types of participants, success factors of events and recommendations for action derived from it – was developed.

The hybrid event was realized in the studio at the Frankfurt Fair. Perfect studio lighting, remote-controlled DomeCams and person-guided HD camera trains ensured the good picture. The externally connected participants used the hardware of their own notebooks and PCs for the video calls.
Industry professionals and design experts were able to meet directly on site or via video conferencing solution . from your office and from home on an LED wall into the discussion. High-quality microphone radio links were used to transmit the sound signals of the guests in the studio. The sound was distributed in best quality to the guests all over the world. The moderator, as well as the participants on site, were able to communicate with the guests via in-ear headphones.

An entrance control by means of Temp-GUARD temperature measurement as well as a Hand-GUARD hand disinfection ensured the necessary basic hygiene right at the entrance. In addition, the Next Generation Studio is equipped with several new special Air-GUARD-Tube air filters to combat viruses. Further hygiene measures, as well as sufficient space, ensure a high level of Corona safety precautions.

With the latest technology in video, sound and lighting, the AVMS team was able to guarantee a smooth recording process for the client.
