A multimedia travel agency - The Store Concept DER Tour
The Futurestore DER is designed to make holidays palatable to customers in an interactive way. Several interactive installations are intended to shorten waiting times in a playful way and also invite visitors to discover the holiday resort in a different way. The idea for a multimedia travel agency is born. That a multimedia travel agency in this form leads to astonishment with the customers is obvious. Higher sales are pre-programmed.
Infotainment and a feel-good atmosphere at the DER Tour Store in Berlin Friedrichsstraße
In the store there are several areas with different feed options. The areas are divided into “counter”, “brand wall”, “revolving stage” and “workstations”. Three areas are controlled with an individually created content management server.
The brand wall is additionally equipped with a game, which was also programmed according to AVMS concept. It leans on a one-armed bandit, as you know it from the casino. It consists technically of 2 displays and feeders. One display is the game programming “One-Armed Bandit”, which works partly randomly. The jackpot can be adjusted so that you can choose at what number of triggers the jackpot will occur through the reel combination.
The bandit is based in appearance on a real casino bandit and has travel industry elements and symbols as branding. The background picks up the theme of the seasons and changes every 10 min. The trigger is a stainless steel button, which is installed directly under the display. The right display of the brand wall is controlled by a content management server.
The counter gives customers inside and outside the store information and offers. Special high-brightness monitors are installed on the outside. These displays are particularly suitable for shop window applications and can withstand sunlight. They are played via DER Reisebüro’s own media system.
On the surface of the counter are three tablets installed in special holders. These tablets give customers access to the DER Tour homepage.
The turntable is in the standard position as shown in this photo, the customer can now sit down on the couch with his consultant, the turntable starts up and turns 180°- thus creating a separee.
Through the touch display embedded in the table, you can now select different themed videos via a media library, which are then played back on the Curved Screen. This system is also connected to the global media control, but has its own user interface.
The user interface can be operated intuitively via the touch screen. Swipe movements, start/stop and volume controls put you in control. You can select multiple contents, influence their playback order, choose common start/stop, forward/backward functions, decide whether the content should loop or switch to standard views.
The consultants’ workstations have displays embedded in the wall. The displays sit behind a glass pane and are fully integrated into the media server system.
The media server is adapted and programmed to the wishes and CI of DER. This user interface can be called up on any device in the same network, whether mobile phone, laptop or stationary PC. This applies to the upright display on the brand wall, the curved screen on the revolving stage and the displays at the workstations. The media control interface is in HTML format on one of the computers in the store. New content can be added to the shared folder structures, after copying the content is distributed to all players in the network.
Global media control lets store associates access all displays at the same time. “Start video selection on all media surfaces” starts pre-selected content at the same time, through slideshow and logo you get to these views with one click.
The single areas like rotating stage on the picture above offer even more control.
