Illumination in the Hylive Expo Pavilion - Light art in the former Dutch Pavilion

Under the motto #Expo2000Revisited, Hanover celebrated the 25th anniversary of Expo 2000 with a diverse program of events in the Expo Park. A special highlight was the spectacular illumination of the former Dutch pavilion – now known as the Hylive Expo Pavilion – by AVMS GmbH, which transformed the once abandoned building into a glowing work of art.

Impressive number of LED spotlights, static lighting spots and floodlights in use

The Dutch pavilion was already regarded as an architectural masterpiece and a symbol of sustainability and innovation at Expo 2000. After years of vacancy, the building has been revitalized in recent years and now serves as a creative event venue. For the anniversary, it was staged using state-of-the-art lighting technology from AVMS – a tribute to the visionary architecture and the Expo’s idea of connecting people, nature and technology.

The lighting design transformed the striking levels of the pavilion into a lively narrative of colors, shapes and movement. Visitors were able to experience the building at night in a completely new light – an impressive interplay of history, technology and artistic vision.

AVMS GmbH, a leading provider of event technology, relied on energy-efficient LED technology, dynamic mapping effects and a dramaturgically coordinated lighting choreography. The illumination was not only a technical masterpiece, but also an emotional look back at Expo 2000 – and a look forward to the future of the Expo site as a place of encounter and innovation.

The event was part of a larger programme organized by the city of Hanover, the Expo Park Association and numerous partners. In addition to light art, there were exhibitions, panel discussions, music and guided tours of the historic pavilions.

Lighting design and control room technology at the Design Plaza of the ISH trade fair attracts great attention

The Design Plaza at the ISH in Frankfurt is a central meeting point for innovation and design in the sanitary industry. Here, media technology plays a decisive role in presenting products, trends and ideas effectively. The presentation stage is equipped with an LED wall, camera technology, a preview monitor and audio technology. In the background, competent media technicians in the control room provide top performance for live streaming and post-production.

Mood lighting and sound effects create a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere. Interactive installations and artistic projections ensure an unforgettable trade fair experience.

Digital information stands provide detailed information on products, manufacturers and designers. Interactive tools help visitors to find the right products and solutions for their needs.

To summarize, media technology at the Design Plaza helps to present products and trends in an innovative and appealing way, to communicate information effectively and to create an unforgettable trade fair experience.

Lighting design with beautiful accent lighting

Light as a quality feature - lighting design with accent lighting for floors and exhibits

Together with our client, Standex GmbH, who designed the exhibition stand for Light & Building, we created a beautiful lighting design with accent lighting. With the help of trussing, lighting and media technology, we were able to create a pleasant atmosphere for visitors to the stand. The smart lighting design perfectly illuminated logos, claims and exhibits. The highlights of the exhibition stand were perfectly staged using clever light and dark zones. For a trade fair presentation an LED wall and an audio system were also installed.

The modern home is intelligent, networked and therefore saves energy. In combination with alternative energy sources and efficient lighting solutions, emissions in the building sector can be drastically reduced. This will make a significant contribution to achieving the climate targets. 2,169 exhibitors presented the latest developments in building technology and trends for innovative lighting design at Light + Building in Frankfurt am Main from March 3 to 8, 2024.

Anyone who, like JUNG, has the control of light in their brand DNA, attaches particular importance to a professional lighting concept in the trade fair architecture.

The combination of evenly illuminated facades, accentuated areas and emotional media content ensures an impressive visitor experience.

However, a convincing lighting design with accent lighting also poses some challenges in terms of technical planning and, above all, fine-tuning when illuminating and calibrating on site.

Here are three aspects you should consider if you want to generate as much enthusiasm as our community project:

Find intelligent solutions: Develop a professional lighting concept that actively considers visual axes, visitor guidance and functional zones.
Use a smart mix of technology: Use different types of light and luminaires to create a flexible setting for staging your trade fair architecture. Use only calibrated media and LED technology to make your content look authentic and true to color.
Work on your solution together with experts: a convincing presentation can only be created with a foundation of experience and intuition.

Conclusion: The interplay of media technology and content as well as lighting design with accent lighting of the trade fair architecture creates an authentic sense of space.

Lighting design and smart media technology perfectly complement the technical exhibits

Together with our customer mac , who designed the booth for Interalpin, we created a grandiose and informative ambience with the help of trusses, lighting, IT and media technology. The smart lighting design perfectly illuminated logos, claims and exhibits. Through clever light and dark zones, the highlights of the booth were thus very well staged. Various monitors and LED walls in different sizes provided the desired additional information.

Doppelmayr with a classy stand appearance at the world's leading trade fair for alpine technologies Interalpin 2023 in Innsbruck

After a four-year break, the 24th edition of Interalpin underlined its unbroken global strength and appeal as the world’s leading trade show. For three days, the Alpine metropolis of Innsbruck became the center of the ropeway and alpine technology industry for more than 35,000 trade visitors from all corners of the globe.

For Doppelmayr, a leading manufacturer of ropeways, we equipped this very impressive booth with media technology and lighting. For this purpose, the ceiling was first equipped with over 300m of trusses to accommodate the numerous spotlights in the form of spots and floodlights.

Several LED walls showed information and films about the latest ropeway technology. At the demo points, consultants used displays and touch monitors of nearly all sizes. Tablets were used at the information counters.

We were able to realize an interactive special construction in the form of a virtual cabin on an LED wall. This demonstrated how the access control of security doors reacts to unexpected obstacles such as skis or ski poles. For this purpose, sensor signals were used to control actuators by means of AI-controlled software.

Competent technicians took care of the technology of the numerous demo points and LED walls, so that the exhibitor could concentrate on his customers.

Lighting design at the Frankfurt House of Literature

On the occasion of the Night of Light we put the Frankfurt House of Literature in color! Numerous washlights provided a beautiful light staging in red.

AVMS causes a sensation with an elaborate light installation!

Corona has caused many companies in the event industry to get into difficulties! We drew attention to ourselves with the Night of Light.

Since 10.03.2020, an entire branch of industry has effectively been deprived of its working basis. All large-scale events have been banned due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Trade fairs, business events, conferences, congresses, concerts, festivals or theater performances – wherever people come together to experience performances or exchange views on relevant topics, events may only be held subject to extensive official requirements.

Even trade fairs and small events that were permitted were subject to necessary and strict hygiene regulations; this meant that events as a whole were no longer economically feasible. The “Night of Light” was a fiery appeal and call for help to politicians to save the event industry.

All companies in the event industry and event locations (special event venues, event centers, convention centers, conference hotels and other venues such as theaters, philharmonic halls, concert halls, playhouses) throughout Germany illuminated their buildings or a representative building in their region or city with red lighting on the night of 22 to 23 June 2020 to draw attention to the dramatic situation in the event industry.
The event industry was on the red list of industries acutely threatened with extinction! A shining memorial and a flaming appeal from the event industry to save our industry, which needed real help instead of loan programs! We called for an industry dialog with politicians to find a way out of the crisis together!

Let us surprise you, what we bring to the “burning”. We urgently need to be heard and seen by politicians. Together we were strong and wanted to show that we exist. The ones who get up every day to make sure that events, trade fairs, conferences, online events and celebrations come to life with image, sound and light. Without us it would be grey instead of colourful, quiet and never loud and quite boring without a picture.
