Focus on innovation: the media technology highlights at Light + Building

Light + Building is the global showcase for lighting and building technology. But beyond the exhibitors’ products, it is the nature of the presentation that sets the standard. This year, in the Frankfurt exhibition halls, architecture, lighting design, and high-resolution media technology merged to create immersive brand experiences.

This report analyzes the technological trends and concrete case studies that define the state of the art of modern live communication.

Architectural LED design: The Design Plaza in Hall 3.1

The Design Plaza acted as a central hub for knowledge transfer and networking. In technical terms, the focus here was on the symbiosis of geometry and light.

The concept: a speaker stage that breaks away from classic rectangular shapes.
The implementation: A dynamic depth effect was achieved through the use of hexagon structures.
Light & atmosphere: Instead of pure illumination, an accentuated lighting design was used that emphasized the geometric shapes without weakening the contrasts of the digital presentation surfaces.
Technical Focus: Integration of small-pixel LED modules into unconventional frame designs to ensure a seamless appearance.

Brilliance meets innovation: lots of transparent LED for Ledvance at Light + Building

When a global market leader for lighting solutions like Ledvance calls, the media technology doesn’t just have to work – it has to shine. AVMS was able to accompany this project with state-of-the-art LED technology to make the innovative power of the brand visually tangible. From razor-sharp contrasts to seamless integration into the trade fair construction, we made sure that Ledvance’s message reached every corner of the hall.

Precision down to the smallest pixel - Our solutions for Ledvance's impressive trade fair appearance

The centerpiece of the stand was an impressive combination of two technical specialties of AVMS. Several transparent LED modules were suspended from the ceiling, creating a holographic effect. These allowed visitors to experience the content while simultaneously looking through the displays at the exhibits behind them – a fascinating layering effect that thematized the lightness of light.

In the center of the stand, we made an architectural statement with a large curved LED wall made of INFiLED X1 modules. The gentle curvature of the LED surface created an immersive panoramic experience and served as an emotional anchor point for the product presentations. Thanks to the precise assembly of our team and the use of high-end modules with the finest pixel pitch, a seamless overall image was created. Powerful control room and playback technology was used to ensure that the content was synchronized across all levels. This turned a trade fair stand into a digital world of experience.
