Summer Party with an Adventure – AVMS Paddles Down the Lahn and Celebrates Team Spirit

On the morning of August 21, 21 enthusiastic AVMS colleagues from the Sulzbach branch gathered, ready for a very special adventure. In small groups, they set off in company vehicles for the Krumos Canoe Base near Wetzlar—the starting point for a canoe trip that would remain a topic of conversation for a long time to come.

Canoeing Down the Lahn – Team Spirit, Locks, and Nature Experiences on Our Canoe Trip

After a quick break to grab some bottled water and take a group photo—which already featured the first sunglasses and paddle poses—a shuttle bus took us to the Lahn Canoe Station at the Wetzlar Canoe Club. There, life jackets, paddles, and a safety briefing—led by a charming guide nicknamed “Captain Kai”—were already waiting for us. His words—“If you capsize, you can swim—but please do it with style!”—became the unofficial motto of the day.

The boats were launched, with four colleagues sharing each canoe. The six teams quickly developed their own strategies:

Team Turbo got off to a flying start and felt like they were already in Koblenz before the others had even gotten on board.
The recreational paddlers, on the other hand, enjoyed the tranquility of the Lahn, watched herons and dragonflies, and discussed the best side dishes for a barbecue.
Team Musik & Chaos may not have had much direction, but they did have a Bluetooth speaker blasting party music and the loudest laughter on the river.

The Lahn River showed itself at its best: gently meandering through green floodplains, past old mills, enchanting riverside landscapes, and curious families of ducks. The sun glinted off the water, dragonflies danced across the surface, and occasionally a hiker waved from the bank.

Things got particularly exciting at the three locks that had to be operated manually. This is where it became clear who was truly capable of multitasking:

Open the gate, open the lock, drive in, close the gate, close the lock, open the lock at the exit gate, drain the water, open the gate, drive out, close the gate, close the lock—a real lock-gate ballet!
Some teams managed it with precision, while others did so with lots of laughter and wet feet.

After about 10 kilometers and a few “Where is Team 4, anyway?” moments, the boats arrived back at the Krumos canoe base, well ahead of the others. Exhausted but happy, we headed back to the office—where the caterer was already waiting.

Barbecue Delights and Memorable Moments – A Festive Finale Honoring Our Long-Time Employees

Before the aroma of freshly grilled meat and vegetarian delicacies wafted across the company grounds, things grew quiet once more—and the atmosphere became very emotional. That’s because, before the social part of the summer party began, management took the time to honor three very special people: colleagues who have contributed to the success of AVMS GmbH for many years with heart, dedication, and reliability.

Amid loud applause and visible emotion, Laura from Sales, Christian from Project Management, and Steven from Scheduling were introduced. Each of them received a personalized, framed certificate of honor—as a visible token of appreciation and gratitude for their many years of loyalty and tireless dedication.

Laura is celebrating her 20th anniversary at AVMS—an impressive journey during which she has not only served countless customers but also shaped the company with her positive attitude and organizational skills. Her colleagues appreciate her for her reliability, her helpful nature—and her legendary stash of USB drives in her desk.

Christian, since A project manager for 15 years, he is known for his steady hand, even during turbulent project phases. When others get nervous, he stays calm—and always finds a solution. Whether it’s a trade show, an event, or a special project: Christian has seen it all and handled it all. His dry sense of humor is at least as valuable as his experience.

Steven, who has also been with us since A member of the team for 15 years, he pulls the strings behind the scenes as head of logistics. This isn’t a job for the faint of heart. Steven handles it all with a broad perspective, clarity—and a calendar that probably holds more secrets than any safe.

The ceremony was a moving moment—not only for the three honorees, but for the entire team. After all, they embody what AVMS is all about: teamwork, reliability, and the joy of working together.

After the certificates were presented and a group photo was taken amid loud applause, the evening moved on to the culinary portion of the program. Amid the aroma of grilled food, cool drinks, and lively conversation, everyone celebrated, laughed, and toasted to the years ahead together.

The barbecue was the perfect way to wrap things up: juicy steaks, vegetarian delicacies, salads, dips, and a dessert buffet that brought even the most paddle-weary colleagues back to life. Over cool drinks and relaxed conversations, there was plenty of laughter, new nicknames were handed out (“Lock-Schorsch,” “Paddle Princess”), and plans were already being made for the next summer party.

The 2025 Summer Festival was a huge success—a day filled with nature, team spirit, and culinary highlights. The Lahn River not only carried us along, but also brought us together. And who knows—maybe next year there’ll be a race with water wings?

Summer party at full throttle: AVMS Potsdam in a speed rush on the Carrera track

The summer party at the AVMS Potsdam branch in July was not just about barbecuing, but also about racing – on a real carrera track! Teams, pit stops and a surprising victory ensured excitement and lots of laughs.

When the managing directors put the pedal to the metal...

This year’s summer party at AVMS GmbH in Potsdam was all about speed, team spirit and a good dose of humor. A professional carrera track was set up at the company headquarters in Potsdam, which not only awakened children’s dreams, but also sparked the ambition of colleagues.
The employees were divided into racing teams and competed against each other in exciting 40-minute races. Beforehand, there was a qualifying session in which the best starting positions were determined – just like in the big races. The vehicles differed significantly in their driving stability, which led to wild lane changes, dramatic pit stops (including loading breaks!) and tactical driver changes.
The race times and positions were displayed in proper style on large monitors from the AVMS rental pool – almost like Formula 1, only with more laughter. In the end, it was the two managing directors who triumphed, which of course had nothing to do with their racing experience in real life… or did it?
After the award ceremony, the barbecue was fired up and the most exciting racing moments were discussed over cool drinks. Conclusion: A summer party at full throttle that will be remembered for a long time to come – and perhaps the starting signal for the AVMS Carrera Track Championship?

AVMS among the top ten in the BlachReport service provider ranking

AVMS GmbH reaches the top ten in all technology categories in the BlachReport ranking

At the turn of the year, BlachReport once again asked event clients to vote on which event service providers they consider to be particularly efficient. The survey was conducted online. Below are the TOP 10 in the categories of lighting, sound, stage and set construction, video and media technology and overall implementation .

In the Streaming Studio Locations category, we were not only ranked in the TOP 10, but was even voted into second place. We think so, and would like to thank those who voted.

Despite a large number of well-known competitors for the top places, AVMS GmbH succeeded in making it into the top ten in all technology categories. This means that every customer can be sure that we understand our trade and implement projects successfully and competently.

We were also particularly pleased with the good performance of some of our stand builder customers. Eleven of our customers are also listed in the TOP 20 ranking. Of course, we do not appear in this list, as we see ourselves as a loyal partner of trade fair construction companies and do not offer trade fair construction ourselves.

Digital formats with HybridRocket at SCCON

AVMS and Agentur Fricke present digital formats with HybridRakete simply contemporary

The solution for modern communication is called HybridRakete and consists of a media module with PTZ camera, media server, streaming encoder and an easy-to-use control room app. The 75″ beTV monitor was simply integrated flush into the beMatrix frame system and displayed a presentation in a loop.

Three days of exciting keynotes, inspiring panels, successful best practices around administrative digitization and smart cities. In 2023, the Smart Country Convention was once again THE platform for valuable knowledge exchange, inspiring discussions and know-how from practice for practice.

This year, we used our trade fair stand for digital formats together with the Fricke agency to inform the specialist audience about contemporary digital communication with complete sovereignty. We used the 75″ beTV with a notebook to provide a presentation for the virtual lecture.

The highlight of the stand was the extremely easy-to-use mobile streaming solution for digital formats, which can be used perfectly for training courses, machine instructions or home shopping applications. After a short briefing, a single person can operate the camera and sound control completely independently without any other technicians. This makes the system so incredibly flexible to use and cost-saving. After just a few uses, the system has already paid for itself compared to a standard streaming studio setup with a cameraman, sound technician, extensive equipment mix and corresponding set-up and dismantling time.

The HybridRocket consists of a trolley with media server, integrated microphone radio links, movable dome camera, preview monitor and a mobile device for control. The recorded content can be transmitted to the Internet in real time, used for an online meeting (either via Teams, Zoom, Webex, BigBlueButton, etc.) or recorded. The recording can then be used as a training video or presentation, for example, or simply published later via YouTube.

The numerous and interested visitors to the stand were very impressed by the hybrid rocket and its implementation. They immediately recognized how easy and flexible it is to implement training content, presentations and talk formats.

AVMS Sommerfest 2023 auf Indoor Kartbahn

The AVMS summer party took place this year on the indoor kart track due to the weather

Exciting races, great driving maneuvers and a lot of fun were experienced by the AVMS with sustainable electric karts

Suitably to the rather moderate weather the AVMS summer party was celebrated at ECO-Kart in the indoor hall. The kart track runs over 3 levels with corresponding climbs and rapid descent. The electric karts are equipped with a time-limited boost function that allows the driver to perform tactical maneuvers when overtaking or to gain more speed on grades or climbs.

After a training session where the participants could get used to the karts and the track, there was a short drinking break for a lively exchange of experiences. Then it was on to qualifying, where the starting grid was determined. The race that followed was a lot of fun for everyone involved, whether trainees or long-time employees. Thrilling overtaking maneuvers, light touches, even with the rail, and an open battle for the race win until the end of the race, offered everything that characterizes a kart race.

After the card event, the AVMS team enjoyed delicious food in a rustic restaurant. Attention was paid to the variety of dishes, also with regard to vegan food, so that a tasty and healthy diet was offered to all. A free choice of beverages rounded out the happy get-together.

So, naturally, the anticipation for the next summer party is great.

The LED wall made of LEDskin® modules, served as a changing background for the online presentation. The two 75″ beTV monitors could be easily integrated flush into the beMatrix frame system and displayed content in a time-controlled loop.

Every three years, Euroshop opens its doors to introduce visitors to new shop design concepts, digital signage applications, payment systems and trade fair services. AVMS is also represented at the Euroshop for the second time as an exhibitor with its own stand and a team of consultants.

This year we have once again built our AVMS booth from reusable beMatrix wall modules and LEDskin® modules. For this we used the appropriate printed fabrics and LED modules with 2.5mm pixel pitch. We used a media player and three notebooks for each of the 3×2.5m LED surfaces. The two 75″ beTV monitors played high-definition 4k content from a media player. We timed the feed by playlist.

Financial support for trade fair exhibitors as of August 2021

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many trade fairs and exhibitions were cancelled. As a result, economic suffering has been caused worldwide.

For many companies, however, this is set to change with immediate effect. This is a big step back towards normality.

From 2 August 2021, small and medium-sized enterprises will receive financial support from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) to provide a grant programme for trade fair stand rental and stand construction costs. Each exhibitor can apply for a maximum of 12,500 euros per exhibition.

The list of eligible activities and the funding requirements can be found on the website of the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control.

Future Of Festivals

What future do festivals and major events look forward to? What can safe formats look like for the summer of 2022? These and other highly topical issues of the festival industry will be the focus of the “Future of Festivals” trade fair at the 26th and Saturday, 27 November in the Arena Berlin.

At the largest industry meeting for all organisers, associations, service providers and trainees from the festival sector, in addition to 200 exhibitors, 140 speakers and discussion participants will exchange views on topics such as festivals in times of the pandemic, sponsoring, hygiene and safety precautions or funding opportunities as part of the conference programme.

New formats, solutions and security concepts need to be developed right now and visions for a future of festivals need to be drafted.

The FOF Innovation Award 2021 will be presented on Friday evening and is the highlight of the Future of Festival conference: All companies that focus on creating exceptional projects, ideas, apps and co for the event industry can apply. Exclusively organizers then have the final say and vote live on site for their favorite. They can discover the products and services of the FoF exhibitors in advance, test the offers themselves and thus get a feel for the products. The FOF Innovation Award 2021 is therefore not only a selection of winners, but also a statement from industry decision-makers about the much-needed tools and ideas that will be used in the next season. The basic rule: each festival has only one vote, regardless of the size of the festival. This gives all nominees a fair shot, regardless of whether their offerings are geared toward smaller or larger festivals (or everyone in between). After the awards ceremony, there will be plenty of time for networking and exchanging ideas, for discussions and, of course, a drink or two with like-minded people from the industry. 50th anniversary of the University of Applied and Sciences

The University of Applied and Sciences in Frankfurt celebrated its 50th anniversary in September.

At the beginning of September, the University of Applied and Sciences in Frankfurt celebrated its 50th anniversary. It was founded as a state university of applied sciences in Frankfurt am Main on August 1, 1971, and its motto is “Opportunities through education”. It is the basis of progress.

In terms of teaching, the University of Applied Sciences guarantees graduates the opportunity to make specific career choices and a wide range of options on the job market, but also to better understand our complex society. Moreover, education promotes the personality development of students. In doing so, the University of Applied Sciences also follows its claim ‘knowledge strengthened by practice’: education benefits when it is anchored in practice – when theory is underpinned by practical, application-oriented examples.

The entire event was oriented around this motto. Hesse’s Minister President Volker Bouffier (CDU), the Minister of State for Science and the Arts of the State of Hesse, Angela Dorn, and the Head of the Department for Culture and Science of the City of Frankfurt am Main, Dr. Ina Hartwig, were invited to the ceremony.

Besides the stage program in the main building, there were also other program points to be visited during the ceremony. Various artists from the college presented their work in the adjacent building, which could be viewed throughout the evening. Another highlight of the ceremony was the anniversary cake made by the Viennese bakers Heberer.

The technical implementation of the entire anniversary celebration of the University of Applied and Sciences was carried out with the latest technology from AVMS Frankfurt.

With the latest technology in the field of video, sound and lighting, the AVMS team was able to guarantee a smooth running of the customer’s event.
